Where Tennessee meets Georgia | Intimate Interracial Wedding at Home

authentic DIY barn wedding photography on the Tennessee - Georgia line

Cait first messaged me months before she hired me. She is a photographer herself, so I was absolutely honored she was even looking at my work. There is something about another artist loving your work that feels supremely special, like you’re really an artist now. She and LT were planning a quiet, low key wedding on their farm property in Georgia, near the Tennessee line, in Lafayette.

The couple had been back and forth about what exactly to do for their wedding, and they ended up landing on a sunrise ceremony, which I thought was totally rad. Cait really wanted film to be a part of her wedding day and I was super happy to oblige.

So I got up around 2 am and made the trek from Marion, North Carolina where my mom lives ( I love the excuse to go visit and stay with her whenever I have Western North Carolina Weddings or Mountain Weddings in the South in general. ) and headed to their farm. I arrived before sunrise to a sprawling property quietly lit seemingly with excitement and pure joy. I was so excited for all the animals and the dogs roaming the farm, but when I arrived inside I found Cait getting ready with her mom and her closest few nearby. She was elated, so excited to marry LT and truly start their love story.

Their sunrise ceremony was a huge success. It was so beautiful. Most of the wedding was DIY by Cait, who kept it simple but classic. The barns were such a vibe and I was definitely screaming during the portraits over these two lovers because seriously, they were just the sweetest and most in love couple. I 100% shed some tears during this wedding, where everything was so pure, so heartfelt, and so genuine. This is one of my favorite weddings, like, ever.

This is one of my very favorites from that day.

I could share their whole wedding album here and never post anything that isn’t gorgeous. Their day was so perfectly suited for them.
