Travel isn’t just something I offer— it’s something I crave.

(Ireland, don’t think I haven’t noticed you…

I’m ready when you are.)

I didn’t become a photographer to chase trends or feed algorithms. I became a photographer because love cracked me open—and I’ve been following the light through that opening ever since.

This isn’t just a job to me. This is soul work. It’s memory and meaning. It’s survival and resurrection. It’s the rolls of film I unwrapped beside my dad as a little girl. It’s the camera gifted to me in a season when I thought I’d lost myself for good.

I shoot weddings not as an outsider, but as someone who knows what it means to hold something sacred. I don’t follow trends—I follow truth. I document what’s real. I tune into your energy, your people, your love—and I tell your story in a way that actually feels like you.

This work is not about making Pinterest-perfect photos. It’s about presence. Feeling. Legacy. It’s about catching the quiet moments, the wild ones, the ones that make your throat catch and your heart swell. It’s about ancestry, grief, softness, rebellion, healing. It’s not fluff—it’s depth. It’s not just memory—it’s the memory that matters.

I don’t pose—I feel. I don’t just see you—I witness you.

And if you’re looking for someone who sees you, really sees you—who gets the messy, beautiful, unfiltered parts of love and life—I think we’ll get along just fine.

Because you’re not hiring someone to “capture your day.”

You’re inviting someone into your story.

And I honor that with everything I have.

Hi, I’m Ashley—artist, empath, single mama, ocean lover, and eternal 80s kid.

I live in Wilmington, North Carolina, and this place feels like home in every sense. I grew up in a tiny mountain town called Marion, but my heart has always been drawn to the sea, warm sunsets, and the wild, open feeling of possibility.

My favorite things? My son, Will. Cheese boards. PSLs. Garden walks. Hammocks. Crystals. The smell of cut grass. Throwback tunes. Bonfires with people I love. I’m wildly nostalgic and deeply emotional—total empath vibes over here. I feel people’s energy like it’s my own. That’s probably why photography feels less like a job and more like an extension of who I am.

When I was a kid, my dad always had a vintage camera or a camcorder in hand. He recorded everything—our holidays, our laughter, our everyday chaos. And somehow, even those grainy home videos felt… intentional. Like he wasn’t just capturing what we did. He was honoring who we were.

He never told me not to touch his camera—he handed it to me. Encouraged me. Taught me how to see.

That was the beginning of everything.

Now, decades later, I shoot with that same heart. That same curiosity. That same love for truth, nostalgia, and the beauty of people just being people.

“This is your sign to hire Ashely as your photographer. From our first phone call I knew she was exactly who I was looking for- an extremely talented photographer, who is so kind and funny and knows how to put an anxious bride at ease on her wedding day. She did exactly that, and the photos are everything I was hoping for and more. My husband is a sweetheart, but he is slow to warm up to people he doesn’t know and he also hates having his photo taken. He was immediately charmed by Ashley however, and she was able make him laugh and relax and just be in the moment with me. The result is extremely natural and sweet photographs that don’t look at all posed or inauthentic. My husband told me during our wedding day “you did such an amazing job finding vendors, are photographer is amazing” that’s high praise from my husband whose known for saying “it’s too early to form an opinion” on just about anything I ask for his opinion on. I can’t recommend her enough. Seriously if you have any doubts- don’t. She’s the best around.”

“Strange is our situation here on Earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet sometimes seeming to divine a purpose. From the standpoint of daily life, however, there is one thing we do know: that man is here for the sake of other men – above all for those upon whose smiles and well-being our own happiness depends.”
